Spero Health. Spero Health, which offers counseling services, opened in February in Jeffersonville. Currently, they are working on partnerships with local organizations to help fight the opioid epidemic. Spero Health's mission is to "Saving Lives, Instilling Hope and Restoring Relationships."
Fresenius. At Fresenius Kidney Care Southern Indiana, we discussed a bill that I recently introduced called the Patient Access to ESRD New Innovative Devices Act. This bill calls for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to allow a pathway for innovation in new medical devices that improve dialysis treatment and outcomes.
DaVita Dialysis. At DaVita, we discussed their work to support home treatment and help patients who cannot access reliable transportation to get to their necessary care facilities.
Wall Street Medical Group. Wall Street Medical Group in Jeffersonville is focused on keeping patients comfortable and cared for at home, especially during end of life care. Telemedicine, which we discussed, is playing a large part in allowing patients to receive medical care in the comfort of their own homes. We also discussed the Senior Security Act, which I introduced, that passed the House in an effort to protect seniors from financial fraud.
Maxim Healthcare Services. At Maxim Healthcare Services, we discussed issues they face as a care provider working to get timely reimbursements so they can pay their nurses and doctors and continue to invest in their facilities and patient care.
Espy. Espy Services, located in Bedford, is working to reduce telecommunications and telehealth costs for rural hospitals enabling them to provide more care for patients at a lower costs.
