Hoosiers,
Two years ago in Salem, I sat down for a meeting with Mayor Troy Merry when he said to me, "
I want to show you something, hop in my truck." Mayor Merry drove me to the water treatment facility, just north of town, to explain how the system needed updating to address safety, sanitary, health, and water quality risks.
Last week, after two years of working together with the City of Salem and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), we broke ground on the new water treatment plant!
Your federal government should always be working for you and representing your interests. I'm thrilled our Salem community was able to work successfully with the USDA to make the necessary updates to our water system here, and I'm looking forward to seeing the ribbon cutting in 20 months when construction is completed!
